FMHA Board member, Hank Scott, received Champion’s East Region “President’s Award” on February 21st during an awards banquet at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. In
addition to the award, Mr. Scott earned membership in the company’s “Platinum Club” for 2008. He was one of 25 Champion zone managers and sales managers nationwide honored for exceptional sales and management performance.

“The President’s Award is new this year and we’re very pleased to recognize Hank as one of its first recipients,” said Grover Tarlton, vice president of marketing for Champion. “Over the past year, Hank’s efforts have been an important contribution to the company’s goal of expanding our distribution.”

Scott, with Homes of Merit in Lake City, Florida, has nine years of industry experience.

Monroe & Giordano arranged permanent loans on Friendship Village and Orange Avenue Manufactured Home Communities in Sarasota, Florida.

The loan was rate locked in the midst of severe market upheaval and closed with a national savings bank at a fixed interest rate of 5.74% for the first five years of the 30-year term. The non-recourse loan is assumable and payments for the first three years are interest only.

Friendship Village Manufactured Home Community received a loan in the amount of $3,640,000. The three-star all-age community is approximately 35 years old and contains 135 sites. Orange Avenue
Manufactured Home Community received a loan in the amount of $2,660,000. The two star all age community contains 103 sites with 10 doublewide homes on seven acres.

Palm Harbor Homes is building three modular homes for Kissimmee’s Community Redevelopment Agency. The agency has committed $300,000 with an additional $177,000 in federal funds to build these three-bedroom, two-bath homes.

The homes, a joint venture between Kissimmee’s CRA, the Florida Real Estate Association’s Art in Architecture program and the Osceola County Association of Realtors, are part of a plan to eliminate blight and create “work force housing.”   The homes will sell for about $180,000 each.
